About the Department of International Services and Programs (DISP)

DISP is often referred to as the International Center and is one of the university's focal points for 'going global' and providing international programs for the UConn community. DISP welcomes all UConn students and faculty to our office.

Our Mission

The Department of International Services and Programs (DISP), as a part of the Office of International Affairs, aims to serve the international interests of the university community through the development and delivery of support services and programs designed to promote cross-cultural awareness while assisting with the academic and cultural adjustment and personal growth of its constituents.

Our major goals are to:

1. Provide for the daily advisory needs of international students, faculty, and staff.
2. Provide an on-going orientation to the U.S. for international students and scholars.
3. Facilitate cross-cultural adjustment between and among UConn students of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
4. Promote greater internationalization of the UConn campus.

Facilities

The International Center's space may be used for social programs and studying, while also providing and ideal meeting place for UConn Community members. In our center you will find: lounge, TV, DVD player, computer stations, game room with ping pong and foosball tables, a microwave and a coffee/tea station.
